Boston, hypertension or high blood pressure is a risk factor for heart attack is tricky to control. In addition to medication, blood pressure can also be controlled with good habits that is listening to people vent.

Researchers from the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Thomas Houston revealed that in an experiment done recently. The experiment involved 230 adults with a history of high blood pressure or hypertension.

The volunteers were divided into 2 groups, one of which was given three pieces of DVD that contains the outpouring of the heart (vent) of hypertensive patients about its efforts to maintain health. The other group was also given a DVD, but its content is not related to health.

After 3 months, the researchers found differences in blood pressure profiles in both groups of volunteers. The group who watched the DVD 'vent' on a daily basis have lower blood pressure and controlled than the group who watched a regular DVD.

Volunteer group of people who watch DVDs vent has a systolic pressure from 6.53 to 11.21 points lower than the other groups. As for pressure diastoliknya, the group was observed from 3.05 to 6.43 points lower than other groups.

"I think this study strengthens the evidence that positive communication can help people to more easily control their health," said Dr. Houston as quoted by Time, Tuesday (18/01/2011).

However, the effects of listening to vent for hypertension do not survive in the long run much less permanent. In the 6 months since the experiment was stopped, blood pressure returned volunteers uncontrolled and should be taking drugs to normal.
